FWIW, I ordered T4's from joe-electro of this forum, he is selling them under the Kenetek name.  Initial testing looks good, but I haven't done any tracking with the new comp yet.  I ordered last week and they showed up in a matter of days.  I had been trying to order from Drip, but he did not respond to emails.

Then your going to tear them apart and use the panel and sensers.

Crap, I just realized that it prolly sounds like I was talking about buying those T4's for this project- I didn't. They were for a drip LA-2A.  Drip wouldn't get back to me, and "real" T4's were around $180, so I took a flyer on the Kenetek.  Sorry if that was confusing.

Meh. What can you do. I'm honestly only annoyed because I want it... but he won't sell it to me. 


Maybe we should be looking for suppliers of EL panels and LDR's for a group buy instead.

indeed. astounding? perhaps 'understandable'... after all, they use their custom spec'ed panels to make a commercial product. If they sold the EL panels freely, you could make an identical product for less money. Since they've invested in their product development, its reasonable that they'd want to protect that investment.

anyways, Bill from Kenetek was very helpful; aside from emailing me back very quickly, he did suggest to take a look at http://www.astronics.com/ for the supply of EL panels, as they're apparently the closest to original spec of the currently available panels. Has anyone tried emailing them yet?

errrm. Right. When there is no "maybe" about it... then yes, it was an "astounding" no. I think you are reading to much into it.
