ok... a racked pair of 1073s start makin' that low hum.

i'm thinkin' power sup.  open it up, yeah the main filter cap is starting to leak.

it's sprague  4900uf  50 volts, 75 surge.  i look around, and find a 7800uf 50 volts and stick it in there.

fire it up and check the output voltage andturnit from 23.9V to 24V.

next, i measure the voltage across the main filter cap.  77 volts.  derrr

so thinkin' that's a little high for a 50 volt cap i turn it off.

the markings on the transformer are ABA-LNS-Y-24  the model number of the supply.
i can find no specs for this unit, like what is the output from the rectfier supposed to be, like i'm thinkin'
77 volts is a little high.

anyone have any info on this unit?  or advice?

thanks

Perhaps someone changed out the Power Transformer. Does it look original?

It looks like you can get replacements here.

yeah, the number on the transformer is the number of the power supply unit it's self,
and the big cap is original, a sprague that says lambda on it. (i think a powerlytic, usually quite long life)

it couldn'ta been getting 77 volts all it's life.
it looks like all parts are original.
i guess i should check the rectifier,  it's not like the output of the transformer would change.
