They're cheap. Buy 'em, try 'em; if you don't like 'em, fry 'em.

Personally, I don't care for this entire family of capsules (2555, 25AX, 2590). which was the reason for the original post.

As to a DIY Ambisonic mic, all the capsules mentioned in this thread are too large; one wants the capsules to be as small as practical for that purpose (ideally, infinitely small); definitely not 25 to 32mm.
