Hi!

Just two questions:

1). Polystirene xicon capacitor. (atached picture). These have no polarity, right? i have to connect one leg to gnd.

2). LM13700. I know that if i only use one section of it, I have to give the second half proper termination. usually tying pin 16 to -V. But if left unconnected, floating, nothing BAD should happen except more power consumption... correct?.

Hey

Have a 13700 design on the bench, I was told that inputs to ground is enough, all others can be floating.

Poly cap are non polarized, but they are generally in axial form, with inner and outer alu foil/electrode.
It's preferable to have the outer foil leg connected to the lower impedance node, so in your case the gnd

no polarity in the picture that I don't see.... 🤔 there is often a band/line marking which lead is connected to the outer wrap.

No, should be ok to just leave them floating, with no operating bias current there will be no power consumed by idle section.

Hi!

Thanks for the replies! Now I feel better! 😅 I attached the picture of the Xicon 470pf polystirene capacitor, that i forgot in my first post.
As it has no line marking, it is not clear for me which is the "Outer foil" side.

No, it's not polarized. The outer foil thing in my experience makes no difference. Bruce Egnater has told me the same thing. What microphone are you modding?
