I recently make a bit of a cock up on a panel for a `19 inch enclosure - several in fact. The biggest was I managed to get it a few mm too tall so I am looking for someone with a mill or cnc that can remove a bit of metal for me.

Cheers

I cut my panels with a bandsaw, angle grinder and files. Take it easy and it will be ok. If i was closer id do it for you.

Hello Ian :)
My question is a bit off topic but I am looking for the aluminium extrusion "tracks" that you use to install all the modules.
The one you use seems to have pre drilled, and I guess, pre-tapped, holes in the rails.
I remember having seen a model where there was a slot into which one can slide captive nuts.
First, how these rails are called to help me google it, and do you know a supplier?
Thank you, Luc

Thes aluminium extrusions are most commonly called "rails". They are used along with side plates to make sub-racks that you can mount just like any 19 inch rack gear.

Several companies manufacture side plate and various types of rails and accessories for them (such as card guides). They are all slightly different from each other and not compatible with ones made by other manufacturers. This means you need to pick a manufacturer and get all your parts from them. So it is best to pick a manufacturer based in your country or at least one that is readily available. However, they all make front rails with a slot in them that takes a tapped strip or individual nuts for fixing modules in place.

The most common manufacturers are:

Schroff: https://schroff.nvent.com/products/19-subracks

Fischer: https://www.fischerelektronik.de/we...l;jsessionid=5979D2DC46C3B23211A04EF7920FD739

Vector Electronics: https://www.vectorelect.com/subracks-accessories.html

Rittal: https://elektronik.heitec.de/en/packaging/subracks

SRS: https://www.srs-products.co.uk/eurorack-versirak-data-sheets/

All are available from normal electronics distributors. They are also simplified and less robust variants aimed at synth builders available from suppliers like SythRacks: https://synthracks.com/rails-frames

Cheers
