Well, the title kinda says it all…
I'm a total noob and have just picked up a Yamaha PM400 from a friend for next to nothing (some recording time trade-off).
I know more than a bit about the board, but want to ask if it's possible to A) improve the overall performance, B) add functionality in the form of direct outs for each channel while retaining it's mix capability, switchable phantom power on each channel as well as phase switching…you know the deal, a summing mixer that is unique.
There is no one in my area that will be able to do this cleanly so I may as well glean as much info here as I can and do it myself.
Thanks for any advice and knowledge you may be willing to share!
I've been obsessed with this thing the last few weeks...
