LT1084-LT1085

Hi all,

Are the LT1084 and LT1085 interchangeable if you're not working near their current limits? Specifically, can I substitute an LT1084 for an LT1085?

I've been using LT1084, 85, 86's for a while now. I really like them. They are interchangeable except for the max current rating.

Right on about the heatsink, though. They seem to throw off a lotta heat when dissapating even very normal amounts of voltage. Anybody else find this to be true?
