I'm thinking that the 'split secondary' diagram might be clearer to some if it specified +12V for the top and -12V at the bottom, rather than both being at '12V'.

Hi Stewart,

Yes, I know what you're saying, but it could be a bit misleading as the "top" 12V winding supplies +Ve-going cycles to the +Ve side of the supply, but it also supplies the -Ve going cycles to the -Ve supply during the opposite cycle (assuming a bridge rectifier, which I am :wink: )

You're totally right, Mark

My brain was adding the rectification circuit there and switching over to DC. Hallucinations - gotta cut back on the coffee etc etc...
