I am seriously thinking of getting an Otari MX-7300 tape machine, 8 tracks 1". That model was one of the first made by Otari and is basically an Ampex 440 copy
I have been looking for the manual all over the internet without success, I am wondering if anyone here might have it, if not in a digital copy, I would be willing to pay something for making a paper copy and post it to me, or scanning the original to make a digital copy.
Also I would like to know if anyone can share his experience with this machine.
I have been told that the capstan motors are very likely to worn out and replacement parts are not available.
I am wondering if the motors could be rebuilt and if there is anyone in UK or EU offering this kind of service ?
