Masterlink CD Drive

I had a friend walk by his Masterlink when the cd tray was open, causing it to break. Does anyone know if it is as simple at putting a new IDE CD burner in there, or does it require a specific drive?

It will not work with any CD drive, only the ones that it's firmware can recognise.
I also changed my drive with a new one a year ago and it works great.
Try to find the Lite-On SOHR 5238S or SOHR 5239S or SOHR 5239V. They are easy to find and very cheap.
