I'm a mostly electronic musician and most of my music is synths, samplers and effects. I'm starting to do some vocals and I'm a drummer so would like to mic up my kit

Anyway quite some time ago I got jim Williams to mod 2 mca sp1s. Everything was done except the capsules.
I don't have much experience with mics at all really - I'm wondering if I replace the caps what sort of mic I'm going to end up with and where best to utilise it?

The capsules in the SP-1 are good, but not very directional, so they pick up a lot of ambient sound.
I have replaced the capsules in my SP-1's with CK-12 capsules.
The microphones now have a very 'open' top-end, without ever being harsh.
I used a K-47 capsule in the past, but the one I used gave me too much midrange.
Most of the sound is in the capsule...
