Hi everyone. Just curious if anyone has experience rebuilding the capstan motor on a jh110. I should probably rephrase. I wouldn’t be doing a full rebuild..just replacing bearings. The machine has almost no hours on it but I believe some water got under the deck and messed with the capstan bearings.

Any tips/advice/documentation would be awesome!

Hello Rob,

I had two JH110 / 1inch Capstan Motors rebuilt a few years ago by Thomas " Tom " RAPPOLT, of AMP Services, in Florida.
He did a perfect job on both, replacing the bearings and full testing.
I can highly recommend him.

You probably addressed this to the wrong person. I was responding to the thread starter. I don't own mci tape decks.
