Hi

For an installation, I need a multipin connector for 1x power line (230 V), 2x loudspeaker and 16x balanced line, so 1x3 + 2x2 + 16x3 pins. Any suggestions? Modular Harting is too small...

Thanks!
Samuel

Hi Samuel,

I can only think of the EDAC "multimedia" connectors- but you'd need two to get all the balanced audio signals:

Here's the datasheet and prices:

As well as the standard pins, the large holes allow you to use coaxial connectors (for video/dig audio etc) or heacy duty contacts- use for DC power or loudspeaker signals etc.

I'm not sure I'd recommend using them for mains supply too- is there any way of using a separate connector for this?

Also, the "Contact" range look good:

Hope this helps,

My thought too,
You may get a ton of noise in your line level signals..

Thanks for the answers and suggestions!

Do you really think I'll get in trouble by mixing power & signal lines? By running a powerline for 30 m side-to-side to a multicore with mic signals, I never had any problem. Of course in the connector, there is no shield. But I would place the speakerlines between line-signals and power, so there would be a spacing of 2 cm or more.

I guess interference would basically be based on inductive coupling, not capacitive. So shielding would not help that much either.

I'm using the "Nautilus" multicore (I need around 3 m) by Sommercable; it would be so handy if I could use just one connector...
