Years ago, someone put up a solution to convert the common Bourns 600R T-pad attenuator (https://capi-gear.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=48&products_id=254) into a 200R attenuator for a Drip project. That forum is gone now. It just involved strapping a couple resistors onto the pins.

Would it be possible to modify this attenuator to turn it into 1K? I'm hoping I can just add a resistor to the pair I have and be done with it...

Thoughts appreciated!

You add series resistance to raise value, you are also creating another voltage divider and limiting the range of the attenuator.

The lightest loading on those Bourns is 1K already. They aren't true 600 T's, and the shunt doesn't go open at minimum loss setting, there's always some slight loss, depending on the surrounding impedances.
