Does anybody have opinions on Mulllard caps? I just bought a bunch of them for really cheap. Also I'm guessing that the stripes on the them are similar to the value coding for resistors. Does anybody know where I could get a key that defines what the values would be?

If you search for Philips caps (as that's what they actually are), you may find more information.

The values are in pF. So a 27nF cap would be (from top to bottom) red - violet - orange = 27000pF = 27nF = 0.027µF. The fourth ring is the tolerance (I think), and the fifth is the voltage. red = 250V, yellow = 400V and blue = 630V.

They are still made BTW. But now they are plain orange with text print instead. And the quality is fine...

Thanks guys! you rock! So they're made by Phillips eh? I wonder if I got such a good deal after all. I spent $50 for 300 various mullard caps. Most new but some used.
