Never Ending ALERT

The ALERT next to my hello forum name, to notify me that someone has responded to one of my posts,
has not gone away. It's been there for 6 days. I've read the post.
I read they were removed at the end of each day. What's up?

That's strange.  Can you close/reopen your browser and check again? Tell me if it's still there, I just manually cleared all seen alerts.

I was getting a cascade of alerts if i blocked cookies in my browser preferences. Allowing cookies stopped the alert misbehavior.

I have Ccleaner installed on my computer. I clears everything on start-up, cookies, temp files ,etc.
I also clean everything after banking passwords, etc.
If i need to keep cookies, if that's the case, it looks like I'll have a build-up of alerts forever.
