Hi all,
Been an avid reader here for some time, absorbing a great deal of knowledge.
I’m a hobbyist recording engineer with a home set up, always interested in slight mods to guitars and amps etc. I caught the bug recently for mic mods and builds and yesterday completed my first working DIY ribbon mic!
I have to say, that feeling of plugging it in for the first time and the damn thing actually works, and sounds surprisingly nice is pretty hard to beat!
I’m based in the UK and I’m minded to try some basic condenser mods next, so I’ll probably be pestering people for recommendations. Doesn’t look like there’s a fat lot of options over here for supplies
