Hey guys, was looking for ages for a small saw for small, precise cuts--got it today:

Before I was using small Xacto miter box and hand saw, but it would take forever and cuts wouldn't be perfectly square.
This one is not the most powerful, but enough to cut 1/4" brass rod, and uses 2" blades.

That price is simply too good to be true! In the UK, a saw very similar to that costs £110.00 from rejon.

Looks almost like somebody left a 1 off the US price... or we are being ripped off big time (again).
can you swap out blades or is it a fixed blade construction?
Sure you can :thumb:

Hey CJ,

You are thinking big

I have more modest shopping list--two power tools for the next purchase:

this one uses 4" blades, and

7-12" lathe.

Here's my next Harbor Freight purchase.

Not as nice as CJ's Bridgeport, but you can't beat the price. Perfect for small volume DIY metalwork.

Cheers,

elco

Cool!
You could always chuck up an end mill in that thing and hack open some Fairchild trannies!

Here is some inspiration for perspiration.

Hey Elco,

Do you want to buy my one?--exactly the same model--got from Harbor- Freight about 4 months ago. It becomes too small for me, so I need to upgrade to this:

PM me if you want mine.

BTW, I am driving to LA next week and can bring it with me--no shipping charges.

Huh, hope this time I will make little further than City of Baker, CA.

I've just about got over the chopsaw, and I don't feel so peeved about the mill, because we can pick those up for very similar prices from Chester UK. One thing I found whilst looking at their site was a tube notcher. Strikes me that with a bit of care, you might be able to make yourself some rather nice one-piece mic bodies with this!
