noob question about gain switch and poles

Hi, i am involved in a 1073, and there is this gain 24pos. switch, which is very expensive from elma (110€), and i really do not like the uralton's look...can i take 4 poles 4 wafers instead of 3 ?..because the choice is larger..thank you
