I'm a seat-of-pants guy, but I feel a bump.

Try the Fender 100K+1.5K 12AX7, 200k load, large bass-caps. Then try Rin both 6k and 68k. (FWIW: is 34k in a Fender.)

Gain goes up! Not a lot, but more than javascript rounding error.
