I have an Altec 1678B Mic Mixer that has really hot output on
the direct outs. There's no control over input but a pad that's too weak for my hotter condensers and no output control at all. Is there a design for an output attenuator floating around?
I've seen pads, which does solve the problem but I'd like to experiment with driving the input on this and several other units (SCA etc.) Just to phatten, you know, without clipping my A to Ds.
