I should probably have this over at the Black market but I thought Id run it by you guys first.

I need to build a speaker switcher. Source would be a Creative Audigy 2 ZS 7.1 soundcard on 1/8" (3.5mm) jacks. At least one of these jacks is the camcorder 4 conductor style. Im no expert on 7.1. Stereo is still sufficient for me. Im doing this for a gamer friend.

It needs capabilty for switching to 6-7 different sets of 7.1 speakers. also on 1/8" jacks.

Im thinking of a wallwart powered, relay system with all pc mount components. Relays would be controlled by a single rotary switch. If this could be done on a single sided board it could be DIYed.

Of course this would be a paid gig. Shoot me a PM and we can discuss further.

Thanks

Not exactly. Four 1/8" jacks that switch to seven different sets of four 1/8" jacks. Imagine a room with one computer and 56 speakers!

Some of these jacks are the Sony camcorder 4 conductor style. Id get a set of the Creative cables to nail this down. Their I/O is really dumb./ The new 7.1 cards are much simpler. Unfortunately this is a test jig I'd be building based on the Creative card so Im tied to their screwy tech.
