My forsell JFETT 993's are on their way which i will be using in the output of my Sontec (pics soon, this one is going to be special.  ;D )
But now i'm wondering, i think i've seen some pcb mounting pins so that you can just 'push' the DOA in those pins like a socket without soldering the DOA to the board itself. The thing is, i can't find them because i'm not sure what i'm 'looking for' so seraching is really hard...
How are these pins called and where can i get them? Does RS have 'm?

For my pins, you will need a .09" thru hole if you insert from the top. I like to insert thru the bottom so a .094" hole is required.

Someone emailed me the other day asking if my sockets would work for a JLM board. It looks like his are for a .072" hole.

Search for this #0344-2-19-01-34-27-10-0 at either Mouser or Digi for the smaller .072" hole. Those pins appear to be way more expensive too...for some reason.

Best, Jeff

I think you mean .09", unless you've started stocking HUGE sockets. GIANT tone. haha
Oh yes, giant tone   I missed a zero. Will correct that. Thanks for the catch.  ;)

Looks like 'm  :)
Do DOA pins fit in there? where did you get them?  8)
I share a stock with Jeff.
but make sure they fit - there are many different diameters.
I don't know the Sontec PCBs.
I guess that Igor made the holes pretty standard sizes on the second genereration sontec pcb's and since i have these i think they should fit.
Anyone knwo about the pinsize of jfett-993's? i don't see any info on that and since they are in tjhe mail right now i can't measure them yet.

pinsize on the 993 is standard .04".... these sockets will do nicely.  I've got a pair of 993's in my summing mixer... fantastic DOA's!

true, I'm soldering a Dingo PCB from JLM and ordered some pin socket from Jeff...damm too large...
the trouble is, these a very hard to find in Europe.
Farnell has them but stocked in Us so 18€ for shipping (same for mouser and digi-key) is too much for my a$$.
I ended @ jlm for 14$ for shipping.... :'(

I got mine from allied through rs components. Not sure what their us shipping cost but it way less than farnell/newark.

Hello, I am upping this thread, any clue where I can buy DOA mouting pins (female) in 2023, preferably in Europe ?

Cheers & thanks

Thomas

Edit : I need 18 / 20 of them, and would gladly buy from a forum member !
