Believe it or not, I still talk to a LOT of people about the old NE5532's... I get the feeling that I will continue with it for quite a while.

Also -- TI's now 2nd sourcing the MC3307x family of audio opamps.

any chance of second sourcing the CA3280 or the CA3080? These have recently dies and are important for analog synths.

I know there is still significant demand for the stereo part that is similar though not identical to two 3080's, the LM13600/LM13700/NE5517. Philips stopped making the 5517 after the Caen fire but it's now back in production by On Semi. I am fairly certain Philips have no interest in starting up another old process fab, but possibly On Semi might be if the demand could be demonstrated.

Probably any circuit requiring a 3080 could be modified to accept half of a 13700/5517, but it would be a major pain.

I'd welcome a chip with more pins that would allow external R's to reduce the noise of the current mirrors, also using better Q's with larger geometries, but I won't be holding my breath waiting. There's always the THAT arrays for the ambitious.
The 3080 OTA is out of production? Wow! That's one of those "jellybean" chips that you figure will be available forever...
Ditto the CA3086/3046. ST even made an improved version (although they just reproduced the ancient spec, the transistors were free from popcorn noise and had much higher beta) but alas those were phased out as well.

I used those arrays for a bunch of things---servoed temp stabilized pairs, voltage references, amps, etc.

W.r.t. OTA's, here's a nice one (not sure it was already mentioned here):

Low-cost audio VCA has high performance

Just curious: What's the difference between Philips 5532AN and the TI 5532AP ?

When I read about possible shortage I ordered a bunch from Reichelt, and received TI chips.

If they are discontinuing its not surprising with the number that are sent out as free samples to people paralleling them for headphone amps and the like.
