i tried it for the first time today at work.. WHY hasn't someone told me about this sooner?!?! the boards came out PERFECT. i was shocked and remained in awe as my boards came out of the Fcl.. i've been doing it the hard way, iron on transfers, and cursing the birth of their inventor for years.

oh this opens up a whole new door of DIY for me!

..so ok i'm behind the times here :thumb:

what there is a different way to do rather than dalo pen...?
to be quite honest I putting of doing the press and peel as i can;t be bothered to bring it into work to stick int he laser printer
maybe one day.....

yeah i used to iron on the stencils and it was terrible. I went to the store to get transfer paper and saw the transparencies and the developer were on sale. i grabbed a few boards and the other supplies. I figured my EEprom eraser was a good enough UV source and printed the boards. grabbed a peice of clear plastic and put the board and stencil under the light. went to do some other stuff for a little while and came back. i didn't know what to expect because when i took the stencil off there was no pattern underneath.. I stuck it in the developer and saw the pattern start to emerge immediately. however the first time i made the developer too strong and while i was bragging to a coworker, the developer ate the rest of the stuff off the board too.

lesson 1 learned: better to make the developer slightly more dilute than not dilute enough.

i made a second board in a hurry because the bosses were getting restless with my "playing around".

lesson 2 learned: make sure the transparency is right side up. there is no need to reverse the image like you would with a press-on transfer.

board 3 turned out perfect and made the bosses very happy. in fact they were speechless as to the quality and speed of prototyping after spending a whole day laying the things out. I spent less than 20$ for the materials to make quite a few boards. the bosses wanted me to send the boards out to be made at a considerable price, somewhere around 300$ for rush service.

gotta love DIY.

i should have! but with two bosses, each with his own idea of "it should only take 10 minutes" to do anything short of defusing a nuclear bomb, it's kinda hard to do anything.
It takes you that long to defuse a nuke?
..must be the old ICBM types. I've had my trouble with those also. Horrible userinterface, I tell ya!

was it the red wire.. or the blue wire? ... hey wait! they're all white!!!

boss: "doesn't matter, it should only take you 10 minutes."

ICBM's?

you'd think they improved the interface on the Nuke-tipped-cruise missiles...

...I hope that's not "kruz-missiles"!

Anyhow, last few I got from Skycraft were all wired left-right reversed.
