I had always heard that all the custom colors were standard DuPont car paints.

Hi all,
well, idon't know much about electronics, but I do know that Soundguy is right, and the colours were dupont car colours.They weren't introduced broadly until about '61-'21.Everything before that was pre-custom shop custom jobs (if that makes sense). Btw Clintrubber, not all Jazzmasters and Jags had matching headstocks, even if they were in a dupont colour like seafoam green-it might be the original colour, not a refinish.
