I know they're tants but I'm not at the point where I can tell by looking at the schematic, which ones they are.

If you have the letter/number for the schematic, that's fine, I can find them.

Also, do you guys know which tants are passing audio? All of them?
Hmmmm . . .

I'm about to go on a capacitor testing extravaganza here.

What's funny is I recapped a couple channels w/ FC's and FM's, which were recommended to me awhile back, and I actually don't prefer the sound to the old caps in the PM1000 (nichicons) so I'm gonna try out a bunch of different new caps and see what I like.

I guess most of you guys are enlarging the caps for the PM1000 when you're replacing them?
That's another thing that I'm kind of wondering whether or not is really a good idea, based on a thread I started over at tapeop:

Pm1K folks, Which caps did you increase the uf value for? Generally all of
them? From what I'd first read about this particular board, and recommendations in regard to recapping, I kept hearing that it's not always a good idea to increase uf value, but for the Pm1000's cirucuits it's okay.
I'm wondering whether that is true or not.

Anyway, sorry that's a whole bunch of questions and I started out just
wanting to know where the audio coupling tants are.

If they are tantalums they will have a polarity indication in the schematic. Of course other electrolytics will as well. If they are tied to one or the other power supply rail they are in that sense not probably directly in the audio path.

Physically, cheap through-hole tantalums are usually sort of egg-shaped.
