Would a choke cap supply might be a better solution for some solid state circuit power supplies?

A big solid state +- supply amp. Most of the time they are not regulated from what I have seen. I would think chokes might help.

I believe I had read in the past a company name starting with Mel? or something like that had dual chokes in a solid state amp.

Maybe a 48VAC transfomer and a cap(s) choke supply before the regulator for phantom supplies?

I am going to look up some stuff in books but I wonder if anyone does this.

Choke-regulated supplies are commonplace in hi-fi.

Wouldn’t the precise qualities of a choke help combat triangular corruption from the Vreg – and filter noise from regulator switching, making it better applied as a last barrier-type device?

You don't need a big choke! If you take a small choke and make it resonant just above the ripple frequency by paralleling a capacitor, it will have very high impedance around resonance in the frequency range. There are more details here.

What I'm wondering is whether the choke-resonant input supply has as good power factor as a standard LC input, or more like the poor power factor of a C input.

I did the choke resonant trick in the Fairchilesque monster I made a few months back. It works.
