Try FreeCad. As it says, its free and very very good! Quite a bit of tutorial VDOs also on YouTube
>> I use SolidWorks here-at-home myself!!! It was $7,600!!! OUCH!!!

Maybe you could send me your Fusion files??? I have found that "Parasolid" files translate extremely well between CAD programs. They output as -- .x_b (binary) and as .x_t (ASCII) -- files. Otherwise, it's usually either IGS/IGES or STP/STEP files.

I used to work with Altium for schematic and PCB design and the mechanical designer in the office was on SolidWorks.
Both these softwares are in the 10K$ scale, but now that I am retired, I still do projects for fun and was missing Altium dearly and never used any CAD for mechanical design before.
This friend tried FreeCad and found it very capable, and it is used by many engineers and scientists, and myself, I found that KiCad for schema/PCB is very good.
But some features are missing or ackwards to use, so I understand why these softwares are not used in a pro environment, but for basement/kitchen engineers these are tremendous tools! And for free!

Hey @soldermonkey, I am not sure. I am setting up to photograph parts as we speak, the whole project is a little overwhelming right now. If you are looking for specific Germanium transistors let me know. If you are looking for a set to build seomthing, also let me know. I can start digging. I have matched sets of 2N404 for Fuzz Face clones already. They have all been tested. There are THOUSANDS more untested and waiting of that type. Many others as well. I think I posted pics of the numbers of the sorted ones at some point. I am hoping to have everything moved to one floor and mostly one large room in the next couple weeks, that will be a big step in figuring this all out.
