I just got my pultec boards and they look fabulous. Can I use 330uf/400v caps in place of the 220uf/350v. I have some of these laying around.

I've noticed the bleeder thread. what size bleeder resistor should I use on these caps? Would a couple of 220r 3watt resistors work?

NO!

Rule number one: Always check with Ohms law..!

220R at 250V will be 1.1 Ampere, 284 Watt.

if you need, use some 47K/2W or 100K/1W resistors.

Thanks Jakob. Will it hurt If i leave these bleeders in place permenantly? Just solder them across the leads of each ca and then leave them there. No loss in performance to the eq right?

Not much loss anyway. Maybe a bit more ripple voltage, as the HT is not stabilized.

It will do with a bleeder on the first capacitor - the second one will discharge through this.
