Hi, I am involved in pultec p2p projetcs, and i need something to know..
The original bypass switch is from switchcraft, long version. I find it only on 3 way toggle, is it normal ?.. Or may i find more to find a 2 position switch ?

I apologize this post should be in "filter/eq" section...

The original is Switchcraft Telever 16006, if I remeber correctly. Really hard to find.

The 2 position switches have a blocking plate fastened with 2 screws to the back side of the mount.
It can be turned around for locking or momentary.
Removing the plate allows 3 positions, useful only if the necessary contacts are present.
In summary, a 3 position, long frame toggle can be limited to 2 positions with the blocking plate installed.
One can be easily fabricated if not readily available.

you can also use a switch to control a relay, this way you can have the contacts closer to the circuit they switch, this could shorten wire length and cut down on hum, or not, depending on how quiet the original units were,

only problem is you have to have 12 or 24 dc for the relay,

you can also do this for the filter sections, use the primitive wafer sw to control relays,

you then have sealed contacts for field recording in the amazon rain forest,

I saw those Switchcraft on Mouser for $70 each !!! I fought some expensive on ebay ($30) but according to the market, it is so hard to find i took 4 of the 6 availables... If someone is interested there are 2 remaining switch on ebay. Good luck
