I see people asking about this version several places, no data forthcoming. Most 44’s have either 3 or 4 output terminals, depending on whether it’s the series/parallel transformer or the tapped type. This one has 5 terminals, appears series/parallel, but what’s the 5th? Center tap for the parallel arrangement?
Or is this a version with two different voice EQ options?

EDIT - found it:

The red output wire should really be soldered to #4 rather than #5.

Strapped as seen, #1-2 and #4-5, it's 250Ω.

#2-3 and #4-5, it's 30Ω.

#1-2 and #3-4, it's 150Ω.

MUSIC connection as shown, or strap positions under the output cable for VOICE high pass filter.

Hi emrr,

Do you have any resources for how to set impedance on a 44BX with 4 poles? Based on your description of the 5 pole, I think the 4 pole would strap the outer two. I’d like to verify before making any changes as I do not want to damage my mic. Thanks!
