Any tips for using REW for measuring mic preamp respoonse? I know it's been talked about but I couldn't find a specific thread.
Thinking I should use something like an A-10 wired backwards and run a calibration not sure here.

The main tip is do not try to set the internal oscillator to microphone levels as a signal source. You just lose lots of bits of resolution. Instead use an external analog attenuator with a 150 ohm source. You can make a nominal 40dB balanced attenuator using a pair of 7K5 resistors and a 150 ohm so a regular 0dBu output ;level will give you -40dBu for testing a mic input.

+1 to Ian's suggestion, The low Z mic preamp wants to see a 150-200 ohm source impedance, while your signal generator wants to see multiple kOhm load.

For precisions measurements account for the mic preamp input termination, when calculating pads.
