I said Id pay tribute here to the legend in Cork sound engineering and music production that is Dennis Herlihy, who passed away on Saturday .
Today musicians friends and family gathered to say a last farewell  at the Island crematorium Haulbowline .

Dennis spearheaded  the charge front center to break a lot of this towns talent in the UK and beyond over the years,
He'd typically tour manage ,sound engineer, roadie and drive part the way .
He had a unique mix of charm and leadership  ability and kept the show on the road in times where band politics were fractious to the point of flying bottles in the back of the van .

The learned quote from the man himself ,related to the crowd by his daughter was , 'I was happier a big fish in a small pond , rather than a big fish in a big pond where everyone wants a piece of you '
