I have been re building a pair of RODE CLASSIC 1 microphone's. At first I could not get the 12pin connectors and cable. Long story short I did.
now when connecting and turning them on I get a terrible fluctuating, decreasing and increasing buzzing/humming noise.
Any advice?

Are the microphone body and the headbasket properly grounded?
I would say it is. Yet, I do suspect it is an earthing issue. I do suspect the cable repaired, other than a broken housing it seems good. do the RODE CLASSIC and the CLASSIC MKII have the same cable configurations. I'm thinking i need to check a cable diagram. Perhaps remove the earth from the housing?
