I did not know the DC300-A requires 1.7V rms to drive it appropriately, so that relegates my project to "needs a preamp".

Weeeeeeeeell...

Specs say max output of that is 12dBu, which translates to about 3Vrms 🤷‍♂️

ACS1 doesn't seem to have any electrical specs listed, but trying it out costs you nothing (and remains to be seen if you even really need the FULL output of the power amps, before you melt your ears off)...

Thanks! I'm lost in the past - if not the woods. I did not know the DC300-A requires 1.7V rms to drive it appropriately, so that relegates my project to "needs a preamp".

I'd fantasized about buying a two channel Class D amp, but the cost of a Buckeye (150w rms per side) threw me, and I thought "Why not just use the Crown?"

Still, purpose-bending metal is not hard, so I could easily fabricate two XLR/Speakon terminal blocks.
[purpose-bending metal is not hard, so I could easily fabricate two XLR/Speakon terminal blocks] -- Back during the 1970's, I used to own a CROWN SX-722 reel-to-reel tape recorder that I would lug around town doing real-time stereo-mixed "LIVE" recordings of local bands back then. Later on, I bought a CROWN D-150 power-amplifier so I could listen to my recordings on my JBL 4310 Control Room Monitors!!! A-A-A-H-H-H-H.....those were the audio-daze!!!

Meanwhile.....if you can provide me with the schematic of whatever protection-circuit that you would like to use along with the Neutrik "speakON" connectors, I could design-up a small PCB and a small metal-plate for all of this to be mounted onto for you, that could then be mounted onto whichever type of CROWN amplifier that you end up deciding to use.

From there.....you can have all of the fun of assembling the PCB, fabricating the mounting-plate and then putting the whole shebang together onto your favorite CROWN audio-amplifier!!! WOO-HOO!!!.....

Does this sound like something you would want to do for your rig???
