Is shielding of the larger valued film caps needed ?

I saw this being mentioned a few times recently.

Why are these more sensitive to receiving disturbances ?
Simply since they're larger in size - bigger antenna ?
One would say larger cap-values often coincide with
smaller impedance-levels, so less sensitivity here...

No problem to provide some shielding, but what's actually
the story here ?

Thanks,

Peter

If the film cap is a wound construction. Connecting the outer foil side to the lower Z side is a good thing to do.

If used as coupling caps yes. In every older radio - receiver you can see it.
If you press in the axis shielding from the conventional cable, inner diameter enlarges. If you stretch it, inner diameter thick.
Press shield in the axis and then feed cap trough it and then stretch shielding. It will perfectly fit the cap.
