I'm adding a basic pultec-type eq section to a mic preamp I'm building, and I'd like to use a 1-pole 3-position switch I found at the local surplus store for a 3-frequency selector for the HF Cut section. My switch is a non-shorting type.

In the circuit this switch will switch between three different inductors, each with its corresponding cap connected in series with the ends of those caps connected together.

Is there a problem with using a non-shorting switch for this purpose? I vaguely remember reading somewhere on this forum that this was not ideal, but I cannot seem to locate that post.

Thanks for the help, guys!

I don't think it will be a problem. You rarely switch eq bands while recording.
If you want, you could solder three 1 meg resistors between the wiper terminal and the three contacts., that might help kill any pops.
