i still wonder about the measurements done by volker
DAOC-InputTransformersFreq.GIF

XSM 10k:10k seem to roll off the high frequencies a lot , i mean - 1 or 2 dB @ 20kHz can be wonderful, but - 6dB?

good luck there is no 10K/10K in this project :green: :green: :green:

and the 10K/10K measured fine stand alone, btw.
it was just my transformer I measured with my prototype.
result: I won't use this transformer in there.
others had more luck, either with the transformer or the measuring, I don't know.

but I think my measuring equipment and knowledge is on a good level

anyway, when the prototype is finished I will for sure post the measurings :thumb:

now I go back to soldering :green:

Prototyping?

analag
Yeah, looks like several guys are going to be building a first test round. That's OK with me, as we get multiple confirmations and it eliminates the potential weird mistake or fluke in the occaisional build giving a false result...

Thanks again to Analag and Volker!

What's the specs , Rowan ?
I'll ask my mate for a price , maybe offer them as a group buy ?

Steve :thumb:
250V @ 80mA, 15V @20mA and 6.3V @3A.
might i ask what the 15v supply is powering?

here in the states we can get a toroidal off the shelf from Antek
which has taps for 250v, 12.6v(2amp)and 6.3v(3amp)
might this be adaptable?

yes, prototyping.
already stuffed all parts except those who are in backorder.

:green: yes, I contacted chance for the group buy, thus 20 PCBs :green:

na, Bernbrue and me are building the prototypes,
Analag if he wants (your PCBs shipped yesterday).
nobody else.

ordering PCBs is just doing the maths:
one is extremly expensive
two is a little less
twenty and more is ok
twenty are nearly the same Price than one.

since I believe in the circuit and the PCB design - it is 20 of each.

otherwise I wouldn't have ordered anyway.

I learned this the "expensive" way. :green:

we need some negative 17V ...
rectified -17?

whats the most one could get out of 12.6v?

with 20mA current consumption a voltage doubler should work hence your 12V is fine. But this is not implemented on the PCB so you have to do it on your own

yes, but i assume the 10k winding to be the same (lots of turns in one winding) on the 10k:600R
but you´ve been the only who measured the xsm high Z transformers, and i never heard anyone complain, and keith even used this transformer for a LA2A clone, so it should be right.

ok, WIMAs just arrived, looks better now:

IMG_4955.jpg

since the Wima MKP4s are backordered until August in Germany, I ordered them at Mouser on Wednesday. arrived today, not bad.
(but $25 shipping + EUR 18,- taxes + EUR 8,- Fedex adminisration Fee IS bad  )

but we want to move forward, don't we :green:
The BOM... is it posted yet ?
I'd like to start getting parts.
Will be posted when the prototypes are up and running.
some parts are posted here
the transformers are 600/10K and 10K/600, two of each for one channel.
