hey,

a friend of mine was interested in one.

i know it's a dynamic microphone and that's about it.

could there be a DIY alternative to the green bullet?[/quote]
I one tried to process (EQ) a vocal track that was recorded with a SM58 by
mimicing the difference in freq-response of these two mics with a 31-band EQ. While I didn't get bad results, I knew beforehand that this wouldn't give the full story.

Are you after a 'crappy-but-nice'-sound in general or do you need any 'accuracy' ?

If you want to DIY for cost reasons, IIRC there's also a T-Bone clone.

This is one product that is already in DIY form, that is, it has been modded back to the old design to make retro people happy.

Cheap, too.
Just buy one and sing though it too if you want that Howlin or Sonnyboy sound.

Watch your teeth on that radiator grill.
