hey
the title says it all. i found one thread with a little info but nothing else. has anyone compared the two?
im interested in the 500 compatible meters. so the sifam al-15 retro and the nissei tr-35. the price difference is HUGE to say the least...

cheers
jakob

ps: are there any other meters that fit the 500 format?

They both seem to get the job done.
Biggest difference I can see between the two is the ballistics are slightly different... basically, the nissei is a bit slower in reaction time.
With that being said, I'm just as happy with my Nissei meter in my GSSL as I am my Sifam.

Nissei is a much faster meter, behaves more like the original SSL meter. Sifam's meter are slower VU meters.

I had the same experience with the AL20SQ meter from Sifam vs. the Nissei look-a-like. I liked Nissei much more (using it for a preamp to "dial in" saturation).

thanks for the replies.
can anyone point mo towards other vu meters in this size category? id much prefer a simple recangular form as opposed to the "retro" look. id like them to be backlit.
