Hi folks,
this is my experience with diodeB comp...
i could realize it tanks to the great support of some forum members.
I m not so knoledged in electronic, i m a soundman having fun and learning in this fantastic field.
for the moment the project is divided into 5 boards... for easy troubleshooting
Have fun for who s interested... of course can contains errors!
R21,R45 and C6 in the time net are for autoset implementation, still in progress
psu +&-18v
Here the schm

very interesting! following. if boards get made/you are willing to share, i would love to try my hand at this build

Woow great, for sure i ll share it...
just the time to organize better the boards
in the meanwhile i can attach pdf for self hetching if you like , but lots of wires!

I told myself I would never etch another board again(with how cheap JLCPCB is, the time investment just doesnt add up lol), but my impatience to try something new/fun might just win out in this case...

yo... i know what you mean! my next investment will be a cheap cnc..
there s no meter driver cause is on breadboard
also R45 is missing in the Cv pcb, easy to add.
R36 is in the CV board, refer to schm
respect to the schm many components reference not match, but easy to understand and identify
if you think it's necessary, you can add or mod the out follower to amp, for a gain of 2/3, still evaluating, dependends on how you push it!
have fun

This is excellent, thank you! Out of curiosity, because the schematic doesnt indicate-what diodes does this use?

The heart of this design is the Sidechain part, it s from Heikki s vari mu....
And with an easy and cheap build you ll get a great sounding unit...
Was impressed at first turn on, after setting the bias...

The idea for autorelease will be something like this....hope to had good calculations
C7 and c6 should be in parallel, so the proto board has to be mod... A jumper instead of the switch, for the moment will fix it...
I ll post a picture of this mod...
The release pot should be no longer than 600k... 470k is fine

Hi Richi
That looks great. Without going too much into detail I´d suggest to increase the output coupling cap to >100uf. This will give you less phase shift in the lowend. As for the diodes I´d suggest 1N4153. They are less noisy than 1N4148 in a diode bridge compressor.

Wow great, good to know
I ll follow your suggestion...
I m going to add a blend control, and maybe a Ms matrix too, but for moment only the idea... I draw something, but need to verify, I ll post during upgrades

R36 moved from Cv to vca board...
Yellow wire to meter driver, purple one Cv
I'm running without C4 and c5, 100p, Don t own the right values
