i was about to build a snake for my studio and i was wandering about componets. as in what type of cable to get conecter that sort of thing so i thought why not have every one rate them give me thier top 3 in cable and conectors and where to buy them as that seems to be the hardest part.

Redco TGS cable is great stuff and not too much $$$ (www.redco.com). They also have Mogami in bulk, but that's a little more expensive. Neutrik connectors are an industry standard.

mogami, canari gepco and beldin

I did some research and the Canare snake cabling seems to have the lowest capacitance (23 pf/ft) as well as the best shielding - foil 100% coverage vs Mogami's braided 94% coverage. Mogami's will probably be a bit more reliable with heavy handling, but in my case the snake will be permanently installed.

Hey Dasbin,
I found mogami to be a little better than canare for miclines snake, and canare better for guitar lines. Redco has better price on all the cables than markertek.
I just bought about $1300 worth of mogami cable and just finished pulling them and I have to tell you that it was very easy to work with..
I also bought a boat load of the new switch craft xlr and I really like them.. I think they are the AAA models... very easy to work..
good luck
