I would love to have 3 or 4 Josephson e22s, but would be curious if there would be a way to DIY something even close?

You can buy capsules from SE and RODE fairly easily at most online retailers. But all of there product is designed for end address designs.

Tim Campbell said:Use a KM84 circuit, buy a sdc and turn it on it's side. The delay network is set at the capsule and should work as it is.
