Sony MXP3000 Mic Pre Discrete IC

Has anyone had any success rebuilding these?  I've searched and read a few posts about failures, and nothing really concrete about anyone doing it.  Just thought I'd ask here one more time.

Hi Sig,

you may have a closer look here.

IMHO this thing is predestinated for 51x since it runs on +/- 18V. Only thing obsolete seems to be the D786 transistor aka Rohm 2SD786.

Ya, I read that thread and it just seemed to die off.  So it appears no one has been successful at this then...

But there is nothing that would hold me back so far. Some prototyping with a sub for the D786 is needed to complete the mysterious IC1. Could be a fun project.
