Does anyone have a source for 16mm Dual 10K linear potentiometers like these with an 1/8in solid shaft? I have a  W492 DIY Neumann EQ build, and have a bunch of knobs that are PERFECT for it. Of course, they are 1/8in shaft and I have no idea where to find the right pots, figured someone here might know. :)

Thanks!

Just to be clear "linear pots" generally denote slide pots, vs rotary pots. Methinks you mean "linear taper".

Correct! Thanks for the correction. Now....time to work on my consoles buss......  ;D ;D ;D ;D 8)

I think I saw some similar on Nebraska Surplus....But they were audio taper.......

Yeah that's a tricky one......

next time I hit the surplus I'll check to see if there's anything....

does it have to be that style or would something like a mod pot work ???

Yeah, audio taper definitely wont work in this application unfortunately.

Thanks, I really appreciate that! I need 16....lol

Mod pots would work!

1/8 inch =3.75mm

Best I can find is 2x10k lin taper ,4mm D shaft w/center detent

maybe you could drill out the knobs to 4mm, if their grub screw fixing should work ok .

Might work out cheaper just to settle for something more available locally pot wise and source different knobs

Oooops ,
Thanks Walrus

Had to post this tune on account of the number of posts Ive made ,

Hmm, CTS' datasheet says they are available in single, tandem, or concentric.

Wouldn't tandem work for you?

Hi Jeff

Yes they would, but I cannot find anyone who keeps them in stock and am not prepared to make a custom order. I could custom order them from bourns and pay ~550$ for 100 of them....  ;D

You could try Omeg - they do custom orders at low quantities, and have been very helpful and responsive when I’ve dealt with them. Reasonably priced too, for custom jobs.

Checked the surplus store today and there were loads of single gang mod pots with the right dimensions ....Didn't look at the tapers because......

Yeah....Maybe new knobs is in the future.....

Good Luck!!

Thank you. Unfortunately, I think there smallest shaft size is 4mm unless I missed it in the datasheets I was lookign at. I will send them an email. :)

How much are the mod pots at your local surplus store? If they are not too expensive, I may have a number of values I wouldnt mind picking up and of course giving you some money for your trouble. I now have over 100 insanely nice knobs that can only be used on the 2 mod pot values I have. Yes looks like some new knobs may be needed for this project. Oh well.

I didn't ask and their pot bins aren't price marked for some reason......some weren't actually mod pots but looked similar....I was just searching for the doubles so didn't really spend any time............. I'll try to get there later in the week because I just discovered their transistor and chip section that has some pretty cool stuff I want to search through.... Had my wife with me on bribe with lunch at one of her favorite eateries in that part of town so I was limited in my time...lol

Just Pm or email me a list and I'll see what I can find.......
