Got the G23 and am now obsessed to the point of complete financial ruin.
G21 is the new fixation.

SPL may be the weak link in a minimal chain?
This is not my area, just following leads, trying to maintain depth.
Between my ears, the room, and the seductive quality of the Big knob,
don't trust myself to notice it mulching the audio in some unobvious way.
Pristine stereo image and bigifiying are at odds?

$500 to do what it does seems like a steal.
$1000 to ensure we also get the squirrel fart across the street may be money well spent?

Ah, didn't know that one. Does it sound good? Does it measure OK? Since it's a solid state device build on decent op amps and given SPL's track record it probably won't generate as much distortion as the tube/trafo Gyraf devices.

If it sounds good, I wouldn't change anything.

What I would worry about, judgeing from review audio online, is phase inversion - mono compability. It seems that you can easily overdo it with this unit.

At low settings the "pop" is nice.
Packaging it with the AirBass feels hyped.
I'm unable to tell from the demos what the substance is.
Gets thin, sharp then disperse fairly quickly past "3"

The SPL could impart a modern width on a tape print.
Can't find many similar devices. Possibly a return.
Saw the bevy of TL07x chips and thought... what if?

The alternative I have in mind is:
G24 -> WesAudio Prometheus -> G23
Leaning into the m/s of the G24 and Prometheus.
Actually getting good with it and stuff.
