Yes, Jim's a totally great guy, was over his place last week, we hung out for a few hours and talked SSL :)

Sintech really went the extra mile for us and on behalf of my students we are very grateful. The SSL computer sprang from its coma this week after a few hours of IC re-socketing and Deoxit/Pro-Gold. Anyone know where we can get an E or G keyboard? Otherwise it's going to have to be the DIY route...

Paul, looking great, still have the Console CRT, to send you also, try and pack that this week :--))))

Hi

I've been away for a while. This console has 8000 gb modules (SL611 GB) and a master section from 6000 series. It is working nice, a couple of things are missing like cabeles for tape return, inserts, VU's...
I still have to build a patchbay and a nice frame, this one is temporary. But overall it turned out fine, sound amazing both for recording and mixing
Hope to finish it in a couple of months

Regards Drago

PaulFergy,

A local client has most of an empty SL6000 frame here...

Do you need a keyboard? -He might have one to part with.

Hey, any spare Fader Bus Cards? :--)

I've no doubt...

What happened was that their computer tower was stolen. (yes... STOLEN!) Complete with all power supplies etc.

The only way that they could get a computer in fast enough time to get working again (they had clients, and they're a full-time professional facility) was to buy a whole 6000 series console with computer etc. and use its computer & power supply tower.

This meant that they had an entire spare console, for which they paid quite a handy sum, but they found a buyer for the modules and faders, and they kept the frame in storage, 'just in case' they needed any other parts in the future.

They're probably not above selling off a few bits and pieces at reasonable prices if other SSL owners need frame pieces... -Hey, it's got mechanical Sifam Vu meters, in case you want to add metering to your two sidecars... -Since the plasma maters are nine parts of useless without the master controller, 263VDC supply etc, it would be an easy way to make your sidecar meters work... plug-and-play.

Actually, there's the better part of an entire centre section there also... if that's of any use, but before anyone starts asking for individual cards, they'd probably only likely be interested in selling that as a whole thing...

Jakob, I thought that your console was a 4044, not a 4040... The whole thing about that ex OB console frame being that it had a 'half-bucket'...

Is the the Morrisound console? I thought that was a 4k...
The 4040e/g at "the studio formerly known as Transcon" is suffering from a computer keyboard that stopped working. I have tried everything I can think of (replaced all chips on kbd & comp card, cable). It is getting power, beeper works.
Any ideas?
I have an outboard G kbd I could use & tell if the card is working, but the 9 pin is yanked off the kbd cable & I can't find the pinout anywhere!
BTW, yer inbox is full :p
