Hey there,

the input module I got from a 5000 series console seems to have an excessive noise problem which is not that loud as this file portrays but it's quite notable and makes any processing unfeasible:

Any idea where this comes from?

Mike

*Update*

Here's a track that starts off just showing the noise for a few seconds (22 seconds), then added compression and make up gain which makes the noise of course louder (also 22 seconds) and then in context with a kick drum track:

Damn, I just wanted to edit my first post -.- Can anybody consolidate it with the first?

Grounding problem, but could also be a poorly built psu. first thing to do is a stargrounding point for the audioconnections, wire that to the 0v of the psu.

Are you sure it is a grounding issue? the psu is a jlm and I power another module in the same box which doesn't have that noise. I've never had any grounding issue because I do it very thorough.
