Does anybody happen to have some 688v cards to sell? A client had a fireball on his 82 e 159, the master logic and it might be beyond repair. Classic ssl circuit board carbonization.... It even melted the din connectors together. Not a lot of fun to repair...

Thanks for the heads up on ssl mixed, going down that rabbit hole over there now too. So far I've got calls into everyone I can think of stateside and emails across the pond to recycled and funky junk.
I spent about 6 hours today trying to find the failure and finally realized it must be a 3 layer board. The +18 is shorting hard hard to the +11...pulled bypass caps, transistors, everything, even cut out as much of the burnt power section as was possible. Hopefully someone will have a spare because this thing is toast.

Nashville, TN... so replacements are a bit easier to come by I suppose. Stopped by Rhodes Audio (formerly interface audio) and they had one to spare.
I've spoken on the phone to pretty much everyone else I could think of who might have them and nobody could help other than point me towards the next guy. I'm glad that in this industry other people are willing to go dig through their piles to help one another out like that. It either says a lot about everyone's character or that they have had similar issues and are hoping for a favor some point down the line..........
